Us people have to take action. Vote, vote, not only to stop censorship, but to get the law to be changed, No congress representatives, No Senators, should be elected more than one term and only one term. No judge to be appointed to any Judaical office, from supreme court to lower court. only by electing them. 8 years term and they are out.

The links to your press releases don’t work. I just end up with a blank Google Docs document. I’m running Firefox, nothing special… If you actually WANT press coverage, why not make it a bit easier for journalists to access your statements? For example, by posting the text on your own plain-HTML page? I know, call me a dreamer…

    Greetings from Australia.
Tell your damn country to keep its fingers out of my rights. We will not accept US oppression of our rights.

The US Government is now the worlds greatest threat to foreign governments rights to police and govern itself, as well as to the rights of people around the world. This is going too far. The US Government is not welcome on my site. If this goes ahead, I will personally see the US Government as an enemy and an oppressor of my nation.

You old fools need to execute more energy on thinking thoroughly and put a stop to thinking about power and money.

I have to tell you that this victory has TOTALLY blown my mind.
I thought democracy did not exist anymore in America.
    MAYBE I WAS WRONG.
    I need to rethink it.

I do not at all believe the majority of our elected representatives want to stop freedom of speech and freedom of the press. However, no one in the modern era can be an expert on everything. Our elected officials are dependent upon information from individuals and groups who, like us all, have their own agenda. In this case, that was to protect copyrights and trademarks.

As a freelance writer and photographer, I am very concerned about violations of copyright and trademark. Some of us depend upon protection of our work for our livelihood.

But copyrights have been violated since they were invented. The only way to completely eliminate violations is to shut down every press, every public forum, every radio station, every television station, every cell phone, and eliminate the Internet altogether. Short of that, the most effective method to work against violations using technology is technology.

The Loveshade Family and others were able to use technology to raise awareness of the problems of SOPA and PIPA back in November 2011. And we were happy to participate in the strike on January 18, 2012.

Perhaps someday issues like this will be worked on by those who understand how things actualy work and what is really at stake. But that day is not now. As elected representatives cannot be experts on everything, under our current system we will continue to have these problems. We must continue to stay vigilant.

Maybe a little less time focusing on people downloading outrageously priced software and a little more time geting this country out of the shithole its in. Think of it like this, if we didn’t download what we do, do you honestly think we would go and pay for it. No money is lost, only our country by “China-Syndrome” bills like this.

    NO we have NOT WON.

DON’T tell people we’ve won. That is exactly what companies like the RIAA want. If we think we’ve won, we’ll stop fighting. If we stop fighting, we’re easier to ignore.

To those in the US Government considering another attempt to sneak this same legislation through in another disguise.
    Listen up.
    We’re watching.
    You are under Supervision, now.
It’s been proven you can be and will be held Accountable for irresponsible actions involving your authority.

    You can be Recalled.
    You can be Voted Out.
You WILL BE if you try this kind of foolishness again.

Consider this defeat a stern warning from those who are your Employers and conduct yourselves properly and accordingly.

    NO second chances.
And once you’ve been evicted from your positions should you engage in such abuse of your authority again, your replacements will doubtless take a lesson from the demise of your career and appointment to office.

You’ve been warned, consider it a kind-hearted favor as opposed to simply forcing you to exit office now.
    And remember; No second chances.

    This is only the start…
    This is the New World
Soon, they will return, next time will be harder,
only ‘we’ can head them off.
The bill was tantamount to a communist manifesto
Why don’t the powers that be not criminalize the ones behind it!!

Dear Internet citizens, we must also press not only against (i.e. reactive), but be proactive and work on TOTAL REFORM COPYRIGHTS, to say it in a politically correct manner, but to be forthcoming – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SHALL BE ILLEGAL – like SLAVERY. Face it – slavery is also a profitable form of economical relations. But, it is criminal and illegal, since the benefits are not compensated be drawbacks. Same story about ill conceived “intellectual property” i.e. a) abolish patents the (think about some anti product cloning provisions) b) abolish copyright for software c) reduce copyright terms for content to reasonable 10 years – SET WALT DISNEY CULTURAL HERITAGE FREE !!!

The movie companys and big-name recording studios spent over $13 million trying to get these laws passed. It would be foolish to think that there going to stop now. There going to bring it back and there willing to pay whatever it takes to make sure that NOTHING prevents them from stuffing more cash into there already bloated wallet. Congress and The House fail to fix the broke-ass economy or get us away from the Middle East, but as soon as Hollywood shows up with 13 million (pocket change to most of them) The goverments ready to back anything they want. Google, Wikipedia, Reddit, and the countless other sites, plus the millions of individuals made the bills death possible and I sincerly thank everyone for that. But they will be back and we have to be ready. Bills like SOPA and PIPA are stepping stones to something far worse. A step towards complete tyranical control. People are waking up and starting to see. But we need to keep fighting to make sure they dont fall asleep again.

This is so amazing to be a part of. When I was younger and heard “just write your senators” I felt like that would just be a dead end. This shows we still have rights, we still have a voice and we def got each other. Props to all of us!!!! Life liberty and the pursuit! #powerful

Call Senator Mike Delph, who is campaigning for Santorum who has not gotten enough signatures! Can you spread the word?

  • There is almost nothing more essential to a democracy than freedom of speech, expression and creativity.

Go to a town hall, visit your state forum: Voice your concerns directly to your Senator before the Jan 24 vote at a town hall or in-person meeting. Get the latest and work with people in your area to kill the censorship bills, SOPA and PIPA in the House and Senate, respectively.

    Get meeting materials here.

Congress is about to pass internet censorship, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill the bill to protect our rights to free speech, privacy, and prosperity.

The Senate is scheduled to vote on the internet censorship bill on Tuesday, January 24th, and unless we can find 41 senators to block the vote, it is going to pass.

Will you meet with your senators during the January recess and ask them to vote it down?
